Collaborative challenge

 


Yesterday LS2 were doing collaborative challenge. I was in the group with Nickaela, Oh Hsen and Christopher. We all worked really well and our group collaborated. Our task was to choose a country that celebrates Christmas and we were finding out some facts about that country. Our group choose Japan. We have learnt that the name for Santa in Japanese is Hotei Osho and I've also learnt what they eats for Christmas day. I've learnt a lot's about how Japan celebrates Christmas. 

Fire Station

Today Me, Tai, Eric, Calvin and Maata have created a Summary about our trip to the fire station. First we were writeing down 20 word that we think that is important. Then we write down 6 word. And then using those six word we made a Summary.

Fire Safety Messages

Today I was learning about how to keep our house safe from the fire. One thing you should do is to check your smoke alarms to see if it work. Smoke alarms is very important to have in our house because if something is burning it will tell you and if you are sleeping it will wake you up. That's why smoke alarms are very important.

Visit To The Fire Station

Yesterday LS2 went to the Mt Wellington Fire Station for a visit. This is so that we know how the Fire service helps us in our community. When we get to the Fire Station one of the fire service were talking to us so that we know how to keep our house safe. Then we learnt what is inside in fire engine. Then we were watching how the fire services use the tools to get people out of their cars.
 .It's was very interesting to learn because I didn't know much things about fire engine. We enjoyed our time at the Fire Station and we all had fun while watching they do things.

Police in Panmure Bridge School

Today in Panmure Bridge School the Police have come to teach us about what they do and how they do things in our community. We had the Police helicopter coming to our School and we also had the Police dogs. We were watching the helicopter land in our School and taking off. The Police dog was showing us what he do and how he do things. We all enjoyed our time and we also had really fun watching. 

When do we call 111?

For inquiry we have been learning about Emergency Services. I've created a DLO about when we contact 111. In this DLO I've given some information about who to ask for and how to speak on the phone. This DLO is an example of what to do when you call the Fire Department. 

The people in our local community

I use Tagul to create this word cloud that shows who the people are in our local community. A community is a group of people who live in the same place (eg: Panmure ), or have a common connection ( eg: the Burmese community. 

What is Coalition?

Today Shakaia, Nazella, Hajera and I were learning about what coalition is and how it will affect the NZ Parliment.  Coalition is when a smaller Political Party joins with a bigger to increase the amount of seats they have in Parliment. 

What is a Prime Minster

This week in Inquiry we have been learning about Elections. Today I have create a DLO about what is a Prime Minster. I have done some research on this work and I have written some thing about what is a Prime Minister. 

How to stand up to bullies

Last week LS.2 started looking at how to stand up to bullies at school so that we know what can we do if we see someone bullying someone. If you see someone is bullies someone or someone is getting bulled then  you need to stand up for them and speak out for them. Today Me and Brooklyn have create an Animations on how to stand up to bullies. 

Why it's great to be Me?

It's great to be me because I am a happy girl whenever I do something with my friends or by myself. My goal for this year is to get 500 blog post by the end of this year and the other one is to improve in my English. Today I have worked with Nazella, Jorja, viva, Magenta and we have create a word cloud on why it great to be our self at our age now.

Careers Job

On Monday LS.2 started looking at Careers job. First we had to take a quest and then it give you lot's of job that you can do. Today I have choose to created a DLO about cloth designer because I think I am interested being a cloth designer.

Term 2 Reflection

This term I have learned lots and had a lot of fun along the way. In maths I have learned my 6 times table time and 3 time tables. In reading, my group learned how to recycle, and what items can actually be recycled. I have learnt that plastic bags never break down and that I should be more careful about the items that we throw out. In writing we have been looking at personification, and I also learnt what personification means. Personification means giving an object human characteristics.  In inquiry my group learned about how to look after our planet. I can look after the planet by doing the right things. This term for kiwi sport we have been doing some Tae Kwon Do. In Tae Kwon Do I have learnt how to kick, punch and discipline my body. In Kiwi can we have been learning about integrity.

Tamaki warp

 Yesterday some people from Tamaki warp came to Panmure Bridge School to talk about some plastic. Frist we went to the hall and get into our four groups. My group went to a table that have a paper in front of us and in the box it have some rubbish to go with. We start cutting the rubbish and we glue the rubbish onto the paper. We task was to make a big rubbish rugby field. This is how much we throw away for a week. Our next table was about plastic in sea. When we throw our plastic away it goes out to sea and the animals that live their might eat that. Our next tasks was to make anything we want but it can't be plastic. Then we glue them on to the paper. I was gluing some shopping bags on to the paper. Then we move to other table and it is all about nature. We had to find some photo and cut them and glue them on to the paper. This is a DLO about plastic. Today I worked with Sky. Thanks to people that came to Panmure Bridge School and tells us lot's of facts about plastic and rubbish.

Compare and Contrast

 On Monday a group of people were worked with Anderson.  We were learning about  Matariki and Chinese New Year.  We were Comparing Matariki and Chinese New Year.  Frist we started making a Venn Diagram Comparing Matariki and Chinese New Year. Then we compare Matariki and Chinese New Year to see what is similarities. Then we compare Matariki with Chinese New Year to see what is the difference between Matariki and Chinese New Year. Then we started making a photo side about Matariki and Chinese New Year. Today I was worked with Joshua V and Jona Dana.

How Long Does Rubbish Take To Biodegrade?

Today in inquiry we had to created a graph. Our graph is about How Long Does Rubbish Take To Biodegrade? For today I worked with Zahra. Our first task was to  find some rubbish and write out how long does it take to biodegrade. 

Worm Farm In Auckland

 

  This week my group start a new rotation for inquiry. This term we are learning about food waste. Today I have created a poster about worm farm. This is a poster about having a worm farm in Auckland. I think we needed worm farm at home or at school because we have too much waste that goes to landfill. When the worm eat your waste it will turn into compost that you need.

Informed opioion

This term for inquiry we have been looking at reduce,reuse and recycle. This DLO has my informed  opinion. Frist we had to read two article that will help us create an opinion. We also had to write how we feel about this and why.

Reduce Reuse Recyle

Today we have been looking at what is reduce, reuse and recycle means. I have written what they mean and what they are. Reduce mean using less, reuse means you are using it again and recycle mean to turn something that can be use.

Te Oro presentation

Today most of the classes from Panmure Bridge School went down to Te Oro. At Te Oro we walked around to see what the other School's had done for Te Taiao O Tamki. Panmure Bridge School first watched performance from our school. Next we went upstairs to look at Glen Innes primary to see what they have done. They had some games to play on their netbook or you can draw some picture that they showed you. The next school that we went to was Tamaki Primary. The Tamaki Primary area had lots of photos about their school and a video about the Tamaki River. Everyone enjoyed watching the performance from our school.
