Hyperbole

This week for writing our group have being working on hyperbole. We are learning about hyperbole. Hyperbole means deliberately used exaggeration. First we work on the sheet 1 and sheet 2 then we make a DLO that tells what is hyperbole means. Hope you like my fabulous DLO.

Narrative Quick Writes

Today we were revisiting Narrative language features and structures. We had a picture prompt that we had to create a 6 sentence story from. I had to make up a character and then describe them, make a problem and then solve it.

Olympic Venues then and now

 

This week our class have been talking about the old Olympic venues. We have been learning to consider both sides of a provocation so that we can make an informed opinion. Mrs Anderson asked us to think about if the host countries should spend so much money on the Olympics. I chose no because the venues that we use will crumble in the next decade or so. On the side I have two pictures. The top one is new and the bottom is what it looks like now.

One strange night

   

One strange night

William had been sitting in the hard chair all night waiting patiently in the front room for any sign of movement, or a sound that would tell him that the rat was back! Outside it was cold and windy. The only noise he could hear was the wind shaking the leaves in the trees. Then the lamp began to wobble and the table fell over onto the floor. William jumped up off his chair, he grabbed his chair and put it above his head ready to smash the carpet. The rat dies when William smashes the carpet as hard as he can. William doesn’t have to stay up to catch the rat anymore and he can go to sleep happily. He is glad that the rat is not here anymore.

Pumpkin story

Pumpkin Story 

One day Robbie decided he wanted Pumpkin soup, so Dad said “Let’s plant some pumpkins.” Then Dad went outside and turned the soil so it was ready to plant the pumpkin seeds. Robbie planted the pumpkin seeds.

 Robbie wanted pumpkin soup but he had to wait for the pumpkin to grow. The pumpkin had to grow big enough to flower and then for the flowers to turn into pumpkins. The pumpkins were little then the pumpkins grew big. The pumpkins grew bigger and bigger.


 One day Robbie came to the garden to see the pumpkin and Robbie was very exciting to see that the pumpkin had got big. Robbie pick it up and took it to Dad, so that Dad and Robbie can make pumpkin soup. Dad and Robbie cooked the pumpkin and Robbie helped Dad make the pumpkin soup. Robbie and Dad ate the pumpkin soup.






This story was about  the boy want Pumpkin soup and his Dad planted the pumpkin seeds for him. They planted the pumpkin seeds and the pumpkin grew big and other day the pumpkin were big pumpkin so the boy pick up the pumpkin to Dad and they made pumpkin soup and they ate.  

Stretching Sentences

 We did the  Stretching that  we did to write something use with the 5 w and it was the Who,what,when,where,and why. We writ a story and i writ the story about  the little boy was running and we writ use with 5 W's 

My Super Hero story

Once upon a time there was a super hero that saved a little boy. He has a blue top. He has blue pants.

He has yellow gloves. He has red boots.He has a black belt. He looks happy.He has brown hair.He is a small super hero.

Monday Quick Write

I like my sandwich with chip and orange and apple and banana and that is my yam.

It look yam and I am going to eat it now.
