Summary

Yesterday my reading group was working with Anderson. We were learning how to write a summary. Our summary was about recycle. The people in my group were Mishaan, Javeylor and Jorja. Frist we had to write down the word that we think it is important word from the book. Then we had to choose 20 word. Then we had to chose 6 word from the 20 important word. Then we had to make a summary about the recycle.

Care Award - Attitude

This week I have choose to work on my Attitude CARE award. My task was to find, research some with a positive attitude despite difficulties they have faced. The person that I choose was Mary Seacole. I choose her because I think she has a positive attitude despite difficulties I know that because she was a Nurse and injured in the Crimean war. I was working with Jorja and Ma'ata.

Achieving Goal(Care Award)

At the start of the year my goal is to have 50 blog post by term three. Now I have 50 blog post on my blog in term 2. Hopefully I think I can make 500 blog post by the end of the year. I will be posting all work that I have done to make it 500 blog posts.

World of Math

Yesterday after lunch LS1 and LS2 went to the world of math. There were lots of activities for us to do. We were working in groups five. The people in my group were Jorja, Zane, Sila and Giovanni. We all took turns and worked together to work out the problem and we also collaborated with each other. Our first activity was off the Island. Off the Island is mostly about problem solving. Then we went to the next games named ball control. Next we went to play a named called make your bunk. My favorite activity is off the Island because it is a bit challenging for me and everyone in my group enjoy it. Thanks to Charles for coming to our school and made this program for us.

Dance

Today the year 7 and 8 had dance. In dance we were learning how to warm up. Our task was to created our own warm up. Warm up is important because it will loosen the blood that flow to the muscles.  I think we all had fun  and enjoy warming up today. Today I worked with Jorja and Zahra.

Math

 

 Today I have created a DLO about my learning in math. Today I have created a DLO about place value. In my DLO it show you how did I work out some number.

Informed opioion

This term for inquiry we have been looking at reduce,reuse and recycle. This DLO has my informed  opinion. Frist we had to read two article that will help us create an opinion. We also had to write how we feel about this and why.

Food Technology

Today the year 8's were learning how to make a chocolate coconut truffles. We first get into our group and then Mrs Heka tell us what we going to do. Today I was working with Oh Hesn. Oh Hesn was getting a bowl of cocoa powder and coconut powder. My job was to the a plastic bag and oreo and with the a rolling pin I had to smash oreo so that it is nice and smooth. Then I put the oreo into a bowl that have cocoa powder and coconut powder. Then we mix them all together.  We roll the mixture into a ball.

Current Events

On Wednesday year 8 was learning about the ban of Ivory sales in China. We were finding out some facts about why this is going to happen. We had to use the five W's and one H to help us find some facts. 

Math Strategy

In maths my group made a DLO to show the best strategy to use for the question 21 x 15 =.___

 We worked as a group and managed to answer this question by skip counting, adding and using place value.

Teaching a group - Confidence CARE Award

A week ago Me Jay-Dan and Joshua are teaching some kids to play a games. .We have decided to choose a games called crocodile. This time I have decided to work on my  Confidence CARE Award.

Food Technology

Today we were finishing off our pies from last week. Our group made mince pies. Today I worked with Oh Hsen. We used two different kinds of pastry. One is for the top and the other is for the filling.Then we rolled our pastry and filled the pie with our mince filling from last week. After that we put the cheese in and covered with the pastry and put it in the oven. Thank you to Mrs Heka that showed us how to make a pie. I think everyone enjoyed making pies this week. 

Math Strategy

 

This week my math group have been learning about math strategy. The strategy that I use was repeated addition. We had a question about water and we were trying to work it out in our thinking group. The people in my group is Savelina, Fatongia, Jona and Lyndon. I liked working with them because we all shared our ideas.

Duffy assembly

Today we had an Duffy assembly in the hall. So first we went to the hall and we wait for the other classes to come over. When the other classes are here, we started our assembly. First I saw some people coming into the hall, they are our visitors. The visitor that came to our school is Filipe Manu, Bow, Donna, Madison Nonoa and Katherine McIndoe. First they tells us about they self and how did they started reading and how. They are a singer. They sing us a song that they have learnt. At the end of the assembly Madison,Katherine and Filipe hand out some box of Duffy book. Thanks to the visitors that came to Panmure Bridge School. I hope that the visitor have great time coming to Panmure Bridge School.

Learning to give clear instructions

Today in writing my group was learning about  how to write a set of  instructions. We worked with a partner who had to draw a picture without showing it to us, then give us clear instructions for us to draw the same picture as they had. 

Instructions needed to be simple and easy to understand and in time order. We have person A and person B, for the time I chose to be person A.

Tennis and Futsal ( Kiwi sport )

Today we had futsal, but  for today we had to go down to the riverside and play there. The teacher that taught us for today is Martin and Neville. We have two gourp. Group A and gourp B. I was in gourp B. 

My gourp first played tennis. The teacher for Tennis is Neville. He was teaching how to play the tennis. Neville first taught us how to play the tennis and how to be safe too. After that we started with a ball and hitting using tennis rackets. Then we chose a partner, with our partner we had to get some ball and started hitting the ball to our partners. When I tried it first time I didn't get it right but we just had to keep trying. The person that I played with was Zahra. Then what we did was one person get some balls and put the tennis rackets away and throw the ball to the other person. I throw the ball and Zahra try to hit the ball. I think she tried her best to play this Tennis. When Neville say switch Me and Zahra change space. She throw the ball and I hit the ball. This was my first time to play the Tennis and thanks to Neville that taught us how to play some tennis. 

Next we played futsal with Martin. In futsal we were playing score. We first got into the terms. We have black,Red and white. My term races the white, we try our best but they win. Next we played with the black. We try our best but we lost. Thanks to Martin that taught us how to play the futsal ( score ). We all enjoy our day and have fun playing some tennis and futsal at the riverside.

Hall Plays

Hall Plays

In the hall, I could hear someone talking and people passing a ball. I could feel the floor between my feet. I could see many balls by the wall. I felt peoples hands passing the ball to me.

Also I hear a ball being kicked. At the end of the games I could hear some people cheering the people who were playing. As we played futsal I could hear the sound of people’s laughter and they were kicking the futsal balls all over the room.

When I heard a whistle there was suddenly silence. As I continued kicking the ball I looked at all the class photos on the walls.

Yesterday my class started writing a Recount. I was writing a Recount about Futsal. We have five minutes to plan and write  a Recount. In my Recount I have to write, what I could hear, see and feel. First I plan my Recount then put them into a sentence. I did the planing in a book. Then I have to write it on my chromebook ( computer ).

3 motivational quotes - Poster ( Care Award )

 

For my CARE award I chose to work on Excellence and Innovation. I chose to work on the three motivational quotes posters. The first person that I chose is Abraham Lincoln, the second is Martin Luther King and the last person is Barack Obama.

Transum Timetables

I have been learning  my time tables. I used my time tables on Transum. Transum has lots of fun tasks that I can learn.  I got to learn my time tables in 6 days.  This was for my excellence and innovation care award.
