Last week our whole class were looking at Food Advertising. This is a poster of a tip top images and a DLO about food Advertising. We were choosing an image and write what can we see. In this DLO we were learning about Food Advertising.

Shot types

Last last week our whole class have been looking at The Princess Bride movie and have being doing some work on it. This DLO shows you what shot types do people use in the movie or the film. 

Ebook Day

Today is the 18th of September and it is Read an eBook day. LS2 were using Tamaki College overdrive to read their online books. Today I choose to read a book named the Flying Bedroom and it is by Chloe Douglass. 

   

Tamaki College Overdrive

Today LS.2 were looking at Tamaki College overdrive library. We had to choose a book that we are going to borrow and read it. Today I have chosen the book named play a good game. So far I have read some of the pages in this book and I liked it. This book is about little bears playing a different games in different seasons.  

3 box comic strip

Today in reading my group was doing Key into Inference. My task was to created 3 box comic strip. I have use google draw to created this 3 box comic strip. I have to created  3 box of comic strip of what will happens if the pig woke up. 

Choking Aid Poster

On Monday I created a poster about choking. This is to show when someone is choking and so that the other person could help. Frist I had to research some facts about choking aid. Then I write what I know about the choking.

Matariki poster

Today Ma'ata, Joshua V and I were making a poster for Matariki. We first made a summary about Matariki by choosing important words in the information. After that we used those words to help us write the sentences in our summary.

I learnt that the other side of the world calls the Matariki stars Pleiades. In English Matariki is called tiny eyes or eyes of god. On the right you can see some facts we wrote down. There are 6 Sisters and 1 mother so that makes 7 stars. Did you know that in 2017 there are 9 Matariki Stars?

Summary

Yesterday my reading group was working with Anderson. We were learning how to write a summary. Our summary was about recycle. The people in my group were Mishaan, Javeylor and Jorja. Frist we had to write down the word that we think it is important word from the book. Then we had to choose 20 word. Then we had to chose 6 word from the 20 important word. Then we had to make a summary about the recycle.

Storm in a Teacup

Today we start looking at a poem named storm in a teacup. This week I learnt what is a metaphors. A metaphors is a figure of speech. I also learnt what is a rhyming word are. It is like when it have the same sound but different spelling. Like wobble and bobble.

Current Events

On Wednesday year 8 was learning about the ban of Ivory sales in China. We were finding out some facts about why this is going to happen. We had to use the five W's and one H to help us find some facts. 

Feedback

This is my Feedback  DLO to Nazella. We have a group to work with.  Form our group we have to choose a person and writ about them a so that next time they know what they need to work on. The person that I choose from my group is Nazella. I writ something about her and she writ something about me. I think we  writing a feedback because, so that we know what we need to work on. Now I know when I talk I need to be loud now. Thanks to Nazella that tells me what I needs to work on. The next time, I will talk loud.

PBS Care Values

Today LS.2 year 7 and 8 look at some Panmure Bridge care values. We have to get in group of year 8's and 7's. In my group was Magenta, Jorja, Viva, Shannon, Joshua, and Christopher. In our group we have to write what does it mean?, What might it look like in LS2? , and what are out care values?. After that we have to take photos of us doing an example of the C.A.R.E values. The C.A.R.E values stand for Confidence, Attitude, Respect, Excellence and Innovation.

Reading

Today for reading our group have being playing some games that might help with our reading. First I try a game called Visualizin. This games was about read the story and I have to find a  picture. Sometime a got right and sometime a get a wrong because this is a Sunrising.

The Game (Video 3)

This is my DLO about Cyber Smart. Me and my friend Charilze created a DLO about Cyber Smart that ask some question and we answer the question. First we watch a  video about 10 year old girl and Me and Charilze answer the question.

Researching

On Thursday afternoon we had Researching and year 8 went to Mrs Oglivie and some of the year 7. In the afternoon we had. First we had to search one word which is  football and it comes up with the map and news and the site. We went up to five key word and see what they will comes up with. On my slid two it had lots of words and website to go on and have a look. I have put some link in the photo if you click one and it will come up with the website. We search the same word but we just put other word into the sentence.

Summarizing

This week for reading I chose to work on the Summarizing. I am learning how to Summarizing, which means retell in your own word what the story was about and don't say the whole story. I am practicing Summarizing by playing the pirate life games. It helps me with my Summarizing. It helps me learn what  Summarizing is.

My box is fashioned from  gold and silver and bronze , with Olympic rings on the lid and dust bunnies in the corners.

Its hinges keep in the most hilarious jokes

I shall keep the sea of tears away from my box

This is my Magic Box work that I did for this week. I have writ some funny word to put in the Magic Box. I had to writ down the funny word that might make people laugh. I had fun writing this Magic Box.
